CONTACT is recruiting a Regional Development (PIIM) Project Coordinator, to be based in Pemba, Mozambique.

Duties
  • Under the guidance of the PIIM Manager, the Regional Development (PIIM) Project Coordinator will be responsible for of ensuring day to day management and monitoring of the interventions and programs under the Project Induced In-migration Management Plan; managing the implementing partners in charge of the assessments and programs under PIIM in the project area
  • Ensuring field coordination with other functions within the socio-economic development function
  • Ensuring timely monitory of influx of people and changes in the territorial planning landscape in the communities inside and outside the DUAT, amongst other activities under the PIIM plan1; serving as primary point of contact for PIIM stakeholder engagement and program delivery in specific districts in Cabo Delgado
  • Building relations with district government departments to ensure awareness and understanding of PIIM and promote timely government leadership in addressing PIIM issues
  • Organizing, attending, and participating in the multi-stakeholder meetings at district level; documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • Ensuring stakeholder views at the district level are managed towards the best solution; managing the IPs (Implementing Partners) implementing the assessments and programs under PIIM
  • Ensuring that IPs adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each program
  • Coordinating program activities with inter-related activities of other programs, departments or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications
  • Producing monthly progress reports on the IP implementation of the assessments and programs under PIIM; working with social performance monitoring & evaluation, reporting and learning unit to collect data and measure the progress of the implementation of the PIIM programs
Requisites
  • University degree in Social Sciences or other relevant areas (e.g., Agriculture, Sociology, Rural Development, Agronomy, Community Development, etc.)
  • Between 5 and 7 years of relevant working experience in the development field, preferably in one or more areas of PIIM focus including, project management, spatial planning, urban planning, community health and/or community capacity building
  • Relevant computer skills and knowledge
  • Fluency both in Portuguese and in English is required
  • Swahili language skills will be preferred
  • Demonstrable program management skills
  • Demonstrated network with development community
  • Professionalism and secrecy
  • High sense of responsibility
  • Ease of communication and negotiation skills
  • Owning a residence in Cabo Delgado
